Are you an experienced Site Manager with a passion for social housing and a track record of successfully managing projects in a live tenant environment? We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our team as a Site Manager for a prominent social housing project in Central Birmingham.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Site Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of a tower block of flats with live tenants. Your primary focus will be on improving energy efficiency and raising overall living standards. Key responsibilities include:

  • Contractor Management: Effectively coordinate and manage contractors involved in the project, ensuring they adhere to project timelines and quality standards.
  • Tenant Relations: Develop and maintain positive relationships with live tenants, communicating project updates, addressing concerns, and minimising disruptions to their daily lives.
  • Health and Safety: Implement and enforce strict health and safety protocols on-site, ensuring the well-being of both contractors and tenants.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and assess the quality of work performed by contractors, ensuring that it meets industry standards and project specifications.
  • Energy Efficiency Improvements: Oversee the implementation of energy-efficient measures, such as insulation upgrades, energy-efficient heating systems, and other sustainability initiatives.
  • Project Reporting: Provide regular progress reports to project stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and proposed solutions.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven Experience: A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Site Manager role, with a strong background in social housing projects.
  • Contractor Coordination: Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple contractors and subcontractors effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with live tenants, project stakeholders, and team members.
  • Health and Safety: In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and a commitment to ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to unexpected challenges on-site.
  • Energy Efficiency Knowledge: Familiarity with energy-efficient technologies and practices in the context of social housing projects.
