Company Overview

Our client is an extremely well respected multi disciplinary independent global building consultancy, whose heritage spans over two centuries. They have consistently been a leader in providing project management, building surveying, cost management, quantity surveying and advisory services for some of the world’s landmark projects, and are dedicated to the value, quality and sustainability of the built environment.

They are a sector focused business actively operating and investing in Commercial, Residential, Education, Data Centres, Mixed Use, Infrastructure, Retail and Healthcare clients and projects. Their Project Managers work closely with their clients, advising them on legal, procurement, programme, statutory, risk, technical and financial matters that arise during the project.

Their Project Management teams have grown considerably over the past few years and have recruited 50 new Project Manager’s since May 2023. They have an enviable client base working on major projects regularly valued between £50 million to £3 billion for master developers. They pride themselves on the volume of repeat work they receive from their clients, which highlights their commitment to quality service and advice.

The Opportunity

Due to the winning of a number of high profile projects they are now seeking a Project Manager to join their existing Project Management team in Bristol.

We are looking for a Project Manager with commercial consultancy experience to join a client focused team to help develop and drive their capability and reputation in the market, working on high profile projects throughout Bristol and the South West. This is an exciting opportunity for a high calibre individual to join and strengthen their team, working on a range of projects across commercial, residential, education and leisure sectors within the private and public sector.

Key responsibilities;

* To support business objectives of delivering value for money in all circumstances
* To carry out assigned duties efficiently and in accordance with processes and procedures
* Comply with established procurement/commercial/contractual strategies
* Take personal responsibility for complying with Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards
* Management and preparation of key stage reports from feasibility through to completion and post-handover
* Preparation of various programmes
* Management of meetings, taking and preparation of minutes
* Preparation of progress reports and presentations at monthly client meetings
* Assisting in the running of a competitive tender process including managing queries from tendering contractors
* Assistance with the preparation of contract documents
* Management of multi-disciplinary project teams
* Working knowledge of building contracts
* Experience of administering building contracts
* Regular reporting to clients and internal client teams
* To support development of targeted marketing material, bid documents, capability statements and attend networking events
* To support in the development of fee proposals and responses to RFPs
* To participate in Business Development activities where required

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive proactive approach to the role, and will be committed to delivering customer service excellence, with good commercial results and a strong interest or experience in commercial projects.

* Construction related degree or a similar construction related qualification with technical delivery experience in a similar role gained within a consultancy or end user client
* 2+ years experience in delivering construction projects, including project(s) as the lead Project Manager either as a consultant or client side Project Manager
* Experience managing projects across the design, tender and construction stages
* Ability to identify potential opportunities to secure more business (and notify Associate/Partner)
* Well organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined and commercially astute
* Excellent communication and presentation skills both written and verbal
* Can quickly acclimatise to a new projects and take ownership to drive the project forward with the support of senior management
* Excellent customer service, communication and client/external interface skills
* A track record of working with teams and managing projects by prioritising workloads and delivering to deadlines
* A team player with a ‘can do’ attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable and flexible
* Proven track record on construction projects as a Project Manager to time, cost and quality
