Purpose of the Role
The Presales consultant will work with the Sales team to assist with opportunities by identifying needs, developing appropriate solutions, defining value strategies, engaging with the customers, partners and prospects, preparing proposals and uncovering additional opportunities.
Ensuring that partners can successfully leverage Ingenico’s products and services to achieve agreed technical/business goals will be a key part of the role. This person will also provide technical guidance internally in the concept, design, scoping and implementation of client projects in both pre and post sales activities.
The Presales Consultant is an important role reporting directly to the Presales Manager for Enterprise, Northern Europe. Much of the job involves working across functions to bring together a mix of disciplines in order to ensure that when Ingenico makes a proposal we do so in a fair, accurate and persuasive fashion.
Responsibilities
The primary technical contact responsible for supporting the sales function for clients and prospects focussing on design and implementation support of Ingenico’s solutions.
Oversee the technical and commercial content of commercial offers, working with the delivery, finance and sales teams to ensure that we are making the best commercial decisions, based on accurate cost, market and client data.
Support the sales team in developing new business sales plans by identifying the fit of product to market sectors, accounts etc.
Support the sales team in working with potential and existing customers to capture business requirements and identify suitable Ingenico products and solutions to meet those needs. Help train the sales team on new and existing solution options. Furthermore, there will be a need to support on occasion Ingenico events and attend trade shows as required.
Provide technical solution designs in close collaboration with implementation teams and work with other teams downstream of the sale to ensure they have sufficient clarity and confidence to deliver a solution that meets the customers’ requirements and expectations.
Provide input for the product development teams to ensure that they have line of sight of the technical enhancements needed to meet market and customer demands.
Develop and maintain an excellent and authoritative knowledge of the competitive product landscape.
Co-ordinating and taking ownership of the end to end bid management process. This includes: managing the qualification (bid go / no go), assembling the bid team, contributing to the written proposal, tracking all risks and dependencies, ensuring timely delivery of compliant and commercially sound bids.
Desired Skills and Experience
Significant experience within a technical, presales and/or consulting role within complex retail payment landscapes
Demonstrable experience of working with internal stakeholders cross-functionally.
Experience in giving presentations to customers in a sales environment at all levels up to and including C-level.
A strong understanding of the sales process and a track record in working with an enterprise-level client base within the payments industr
Excellent writing skills (Statement of work, proposals, documentation, presentations)
Excellent verbal skills (explanation of solutions, meetings, presentations, training)
