Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Construction Supervisor to oversee the delivery of Building Fabric projects across our client’s portfolio of schools within the Somerset region.

Our client is a mutli academy trust based in Somerset.

Description

The Construction Supervisor will primary be responsible for the day to day site management of building fabric projects taking place across a portfolio of schools.

Typical projects will include classroom extensions, office refurbs, roof replacements and installation of brand new toilet blocks.

Day to day tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising and managing building projects across multiple school sites within the academy trust.
  • Collaborate with contractors, architects, and other stakeholders to develop project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Ensure that all projects comply with relevant regulations, health and safety standards, and quality requirements.
  • Monitor project progress, identify issues, and implement effective solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to assess work quality, adherence to plans, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Coordinate with school staff and other departments to minimize disruptions during construction and ensure smooth project implementation.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, invoices, and project reports.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on project statuses, challenges, and achievements.

Profile

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management and have excellent stakeholder management skills.

Applicants will be expected to demonstrate strong working knowledge of CDM regulations and be able to demonstrate having worked on a range of projects as listed in the key responsibilities above.

The role will require the successful applicant to obtain an Enhanced DBS which our client will be able to process for you. The role will also require travel within the Somerset region and you must have access to your own vehicle but will be able to claim back mileage.

Job Offer

A salary of up to £41,000 is on offer and you will also be enrolled on to an LGPS Pension Scheme.
