Job Description
The post holder will be required to provide a professional Building Surveying service ensuring that the property / building assets are compliant, and all assets are improved, repaired and maintained and in a good state of repair and fit for purpose for vulnerable tenants.
Key Duties:
* Will be part of a small team in the Hostels’ Services Team that is part of the Temporary Accommodation Homelessness Service.
* Provide technical and surveying support and advice for the Temporary Accommodation (TA) Hostels Services ensuring the identification and accurate diagnosis of day to day and complex repair.
* Specification of repairs of a complex and technical nature to a professional standard
* Liaison and efficient monitoring of repair contractors, devising and recommending cost effective solutions to repair problems
* Ensure the premises comply with all statutory health and safety standards.
* Be required to undertake inspection and detailed technical specification of empty accommodation.
* Identify high-cost voids and major works, ensure that work is ordered and completed to a high standard, within agreed timescales to minimise void turn around.
* Provide accurate specification of repairs and provide technical advice and assistance to non-technical members of staff on cost effective repairs and maintenance effectively liaising and negotiating with relevant stakeholders, partner agencies and contractors.
Experience Required
* Experienced in all aspects of buildings repair and maintenance.
* Will need good knowledge and experience in using Northgate V6 repairs module
* Very organised and good communication skills with both other staff, contractors, and residents.
Title: Building Surveyor
Salary: £272 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract: Rolling 3-month contract (one-week notice)
